Defense holds Jaguars until offense catches up

High school football, COVID edition kicked off Friday night in the jungle.  Before a modest home crowd, mainly due to game attendance restrictions, Madison Central pulled out their first win of the season against Northwest Rankin.  Before the game, there was a moment of silence for Coach Kelby Bowman, the linebackers coach for Northwest Rankin who died last month.

Ridgeland prevails over Terry for homecoming win

In front of their homecoming crowd, the Ridgeland Titans sent their Titans’s fans and homecoming queen, Holly Davidson happy with their victory.  The aerial assault put on by Ridgeland cause problems for Terry most of the night.  Zy McDonald continues to lead the Titans offense under new head coach, David White.  Through 4 games, the Titans are 3 and 1.

Ole Miss avoids upset bid by Southeastern Louisiana 40-29

CHRIS BURROWS (Associated Press) OXFORD, Miss. — Matt Corral threw for two touchdowns and the Mississippi defense made a pair of game-saving stops on downs in the final six minutes as the Rebels defeated Southeastern Louisiana 40-29. Jackson State loses in SWAC/MEAC Challenge Game
